Other Requirements & Restrictions
Medical Exemptions
Florida allows medical exemptions (sun screening exclusion certificate) for special tint for persons affected with Lupus, Autoimmune disease or any other medical condition requiring limited exposure to light. The certificate is non-transferable and becomes void upon vehicle sale.
Penalties for Non-Compliance
Warning
Non-compliance is considered a non-moving infraction. Typically a minor fine on the first time with a notice to remove illegal tint. Fine increases with subsequent violations.
Additional Notes
Dual side mirrors are required in case any back windows are tinted. Film manufacturers don’t need to certify the film. The sticker to identify legal tinting is required on the inside of the driver’s side door jamb.
