VLT Limits (Sedan)

Windshield: 25% VLT tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line or top 5 inches, with less than 25% reflection. Clear, untinted UV film allowed anywhere on windshield.

Front Side: 25% VLT

Back Side: Any Allowed

Rear Window: Any Allowed

Reflectivity Limits (Sedan)

Front Side: No more than 25% reflective

Back Side: No more than 25% reflective

Medical Exemptions

Texas Department of Public Safety discontinued issuing medical exemption permits effective January 1, 2019. No new applications accepted.

If rear window is tinted below 25% VLT, dual side mirrors are required. Film manufacturers need to certify the film they sell. Sticker required (at least 1 sq inch) between the film & glass on the driver’s side window.
